We may recommend non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), muscle relaxants, or prescription medications to reduce inflammation and pain. Medications are ideally used for:
This treatment involves injecting anti-inflammatory steroids into the epidural space of the spine to reduce pain and swelling. Epidural Steroid Injections treat:
These injections target the small joints along the spine to relieve pain caused by arthritis or inflammation. Facet Joint Injections are used to treat:
RFA uses heat generated by radio waves to interrupt nerve signals, providing long-lasting pain relief and treats chronic back and neck pain, and facet joint pain.
Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) is a therapeutic procedure that involves implanting a device that sends electrical impulses to the spinal cord, disrupting pain signals before they reach the brain. It is typically used for chronic pain conditions, such as failed back surgery syndrome or complex regional pain syndrome, providing patients with significant pain relief and improved quality of life.
Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat painful vertebral compression fractures, often caused by osteoporosis. During the procedure, a small balloon is inserted into the fractured vertebra and inflated to restore its height, followed by the injection of bone cement to stabilize the fracture and alleviate pain. This treatment aims to provide immediate pain relief, restore mobility, and prevent further collapse of the vertebra.
PRP uses your body’s own platelets to promote healing and reduce inflammation in injured tissues and is often used in part with orthopedic surgery. PRP can be used to treat:
Garden State Pain and Orthopedics also uses stem cell injections to encourage tissue regeneration and repair, targeting the root cause of pain. Stem cell therapy works by utilizing the body’s own stem cells to promote healing and regeneration in damaged tissues. These cells can differentiate into various types of cells, helping to repair injured areas, reduce inflammation, and improve overall function, making it particularly beneficial for conditions like osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, and tendon injuries.
While our focus is on non-surgical and minimally invasive solutions, some cases may require surgery. We refer patients out to top orthopedic and spine surgeons to coordinate care when surgery is the best option.
Our experienced team at Garden State Pain and Orthopedics evaluates every patient thoroughly to create a personalized treatment plan.
